Chromium Foils(Cr Foils)

Product Code : ME-Cr-5N-SF

Chromium is a kind of lightweight metal with blue-silvery white color. It is lustrous, hard, and brittle with high corrosion resistance and a high melting point. Chromium metal is silvergray, lustrous, very dense, hard metal. It takes a high polish and has a high melting point. It is also odorless, tasteless and malleable and does not suffer from hydrogen embrittlement. Chromium metal is remarkable for its magnetic properties. it is the only elemental solid which shows antiferromagnetic ordering at room temperature (and below). Chromium Foil, like most metal foils is produced from the flattening of cast ingots. It is used as a coating, and towards thin film deposition on substrates such as glass or metal. Its applications are seen in medical treatment, electronics, and more.

Applications of Chromium Foil

Main application in medical treatment, electronics etc.Chromium metal is also used as a brilliant decorative coating for operating elements on appliances or for jewelry. The making of stainless steel and chrome-plating are among the primary uses of chromium. Chrome plating is the technique of electroplating a thin layer of chromium onto a metal object. This can be done for either decorative purposes, or to increase surface hardness and corrosion resistance. Other applications of Chromium include the tanning of leather, the making of dyes, pigments, and wood preservatives.
