Cobalt Rods (Co Rods)

Product Code : ME-Co-5N-BR

Cobalt is a hard, grey metal which is ferromagnetic. It is usually found in association with nickel in arsenical ores, its abundancy in the Earth's crust being 20 ppm. Cobalt is relatively unreactive, being stable in air and only slowly attacked by dilute acids. It does not combine with hydrogen and nitrogen but it does react with carbon, oxygen and steam at elevated temperatures, producing CoO in the latter cases. Cobalt is insoluble to water and has a melting point of 1495°C and a boiling point of 2927°C. It is frequently used to produce magnetic and high strength superalloys.Cobalt alloys have good thermal and oxidation resistance, coupled with mechanical strength. The metal is also used in electroplating and its radioactive isotope, …‰Cobalt, is used in the treatment of cancer. Cobalt RODs are produced from cast RODs for use in coating and thin film Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) processes including Ultra High Purity (99.9+%) thin-film ROD, Thermal, and Electron Beam (E-Beam) Evaporation, Low-Temperature Organic Evaporation, Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Organometallic and Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) for specific applications such as fuel cells and solar energy.

Applications of Cobalt Rod

Cobalt rods are widely used in corrosion resistance, magnetic, semiconductor and other industries. Objective To improve the oxidation resistance of cobalt rod prepared from cobalt-60 radioactive source in high temperature air.

Packing of Cobalt Rod

Standard Packing:

Typical bulk packaging includes palletized plastic 5 gallon/25 kg. pails, fiber and steel drums to 1 ton super sacks in full container (FCL) or truck load (T/L) quantities. Research and sample quantities and hygroscopic, oxidizing or other air sensitive materials may be packaged under argon or vacuum. Solutions are packaged in polypropylene, plastic or glass jars up to palletized 440 gallon liquid totes Special package is available on request.

ATTs’Cobalt Rod is carefully handled to minimize damage during storage and transportation and to preserve the quality of our products in their original condition.
