Antimony Metal (Sb Metal), High Purity Antimony,(7N) 99.99999% Antimony Metal

Product Code : HP-Sb-7N-CU

Antimony is a bluish-white brittle metal. Antimony is a semi-metal. In its metallic form it is silvery, The symbol is the Eye of Horus, an Ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good health. The Ancient Egyptians used antimony sulfide as a mascara. It has low thermal and electrical conductivity. Antimony is stable in air at room temperature, but forms antimony trioxide (Sb2O3) if heated. Elemental antimony is generally found in one of two allotropes and has both metallic and non-metallic properties. The main source of this element is Stibnite (Sb₂S₃), an ore which whilst being widely distributed is not very plentiful (hence the abundance of only 0.2 ppm of antimony within the earth's crust). Antimony is a relatively stable element and is not attacked by dilute acids or alkalis. It is a poor electrical and thermal conductor. Applications of antimony and its alloys include its use as an alloying element for hardening other metals, a bearing material and in batteries. High purity antimony is used in the semiconductor industry. ATT offer ultra-high purity (up to 99.99999%) antimony metal in a variety of forms including Antimony Ingot, Antimony Powder, Antimony Lump, Antimony Particle, sputtering targets, etc.Purity: 2N-7N, or customized.

Metallic antimony is mainly used as alloying material of lead and tin in lead-acid batteries. Antimony alloys are also used in solders, bullets and plain bearings. Antimony is used in the electronics industry to make some semiconductor devices, such as infrared detectors and diodes. It is alloyed with lead or other metals to improve their hardness and strength. A lead-antimony alloy is used in batteries. Other uses of antimony alloys include type metal (in printing presses), bullets and cable sheathing. Antimony compounds are used to make flame-retardant materials, paints, enamels, glass and pottery. Antimony trioxide (Sb2O3) is used to make flame- proofing materials. Antimony sulfide (Sb2S3) is widely used in safety matches, military ammunition, explosives and fireworks.

Applications of Antimony Metal

The main use of antimony is as a flame retardant synergist. Moreover, antimony is seen as a stabilizer, a catalyst and as a pigment in various applications.

Packing of Antimony Metal

Standard Packing:

Typical bulk packaging includes palletized plastic 5 gallon/25 kg. pails, fiber and steel drums to 1 ton super sacks in full container (FCL) or truck load (T/L) quantities. Research and sample quantities and hygroscopic, oxidizing or other air sensitive materials may be packaged under argon or vacuum. Solutions are packaged in polypropylene, plastic or glass jars up to palletized 440 gallon liquid totes Special package is available on request.

ATTs’ Antimony Metal is carefully handled to minimize damage during storage and transportation and to preserve the quality of our products in their original condition.
