Molybdenum is a structural constituent of molybdopterin, a cofactor synthesized by the body and required for the function of four enzymes: sulfite oxidase, xanthine oxidase, aldehyde oxidase, and mitochondrial amidoxime reducing component (mARC).

The W-type Molybdenum Disilicide Heating Elements are known for their longevity and reliability at a high temperature. The W-type heating rod is generally placed horizontally. Due to the more heat-generating end, its heating efficiency is higher and cost-effective than other heating elements. This heating element consists of 2 cold ends (Lu), 3 or more U-shaped hot zone (Le). In usually, the Lu has a twice diameter of Le.  

MoSi2 Heating Elements are manufactured by powder metallurgy. They consist of molybdenum disilicide and additives to prevent recrystallization. Because MoSi2 is completely stable at 1800ºC (3270 ° F), it has a higher temperature performance than other types of heating elements. The resistance of the MoSi2 element to oxidation lies in the formation of impermeable quartz or glass-like protective layer, which will be re-formed upon heating if it is damaged during operation.

MoSi2 devices have low resistivity and have positive resistance-temperature characteristics. Compared to metal heating elements, it can be used under very high watt loads. Due to its high-temperature oxidation resistance, MoSi2 resistors remain constant at a constant temperature throughout their useful life. Even in series, new and old components can be used simultaneously in the same furnace.
