Rhenium is a chemical element with the symbol Re and atomic number 75. It is a silvery-gray, heavy, third-row transition metal in group 7 of the periodic table. With an estimated average concentration of 1 part per billion (ppb), rhenium is one of the rarest elements in the Earth's crust.

Tungsten Rhenium (W-Re) Alloy Electrode is a grey metallic Rod with a pointy end (see picture). The size of the electrode can be customized according to customers’ request. Its composition, Tungsten Rhenium alloy, is one of the ideal welding electrode materials.

Compared with the Tungsten Thorium alloy electrode and Tungsten-Copper alloy electrode material, Tungsten Rhenium Alloy Electrode has stronger resistance to high temperature and arc ablation, and is less radioactive than the Tungsten Thorium electrode. Besides, Tungsten Rhenium Alloy Electrode has the excellent electron-emitting ability and is ideal for surface modification.

Tungsten Rhenium Alloy Electrode is able to work under extremely high voltage and temperature without oxidation and erosion. The alloy of high purity Tungsten with a low quantity of Rhenium strikes a great balance to obtain sufficient high ductility allowing wire processing as well as to reduce the amount of Rhenium evaporation.
